I know it is old as the hills but i cleaned mine up and checked it out to make sure it still worked (ain't used it in over 2 years) plus i wanted to see if i can STILL play with two hands. Lol my axiom 25 key don't really allow the use of two hand playing. It is more like one hand and one finger. I have been wanting a newer 49 key but all in my price range has that crappy synth key action which i hate. It feels cheap as heck to me. I started on an old upright piano and even the audio workstations i played back in the 80's and 90's had weighted keys. Even my little axiom 25 has semi-weighted keys.
I had forgotten about the old EMU board. It ain't weighted or semi-weighted but it AIN'T synth action either. It is kinda in between and i want to set up the EMU X49 with S1. Any help would be appreciated. But if they have not gotten off their humps and updated the software on an obsolete product. That software is worthless.
It only worked up to XP. As i recall it would not even run the installer under vista in the past much less Win7 and you can forget Win8. I downloaded the driver and the management software when i pulled it out a few days ago but then recalled that the management software never worked in vista.
I am not sure the software would not function because it would not even launch the installer under compatibility mode so i have not even tried to install it. But don't get me wrong. I appreciate you giving me the info.
All i wanted to know is if anyone actually still has one and uses it here in S1 and may have a profile built for it. I will probably just add it under a generic controller.if you notice the most recent update was in 2011 and only claims it works under vista 64 bit. That is why i am not bothering to even try to install it. Thanks for trying to help.jayThis message was edited 1 time.

I myself just check my osx install after your post, and cant run it anymore because I upgraded my os, Think your best bet (apart from the compatibility fix) is to just set it up on an older computer. Its a great keyboard - very flexible, very nice feel. Pretty much a steal when getting it 2nd hand.
People underestimate its value. I bought it 2nd hand cause of the keyboards good weighting, and wasnt disappointed!Macbook ProOsx 10.6.8Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 DSP. I was looking for another 49 key to go with my 25 key but every low end 49 key midi controller is very cheaply made compared to this Xboard so i have blown off even looking for a new one. Lenovo r60 sound drivers for xp.
